Big Brothers
The Big Brothers is a mentoring program that
comprises upperclassmen whose main goal is to enable every member
of the student body to reach his full potential. Big Brothers provide
support, advice and encouragement to incoming freshman and offer
tutoring on a daily basis for any student who needs individual help
in any subject matter.
The Blue and White Newspaper
The Blue and White Newspaper reports the latest
activity on campus academics, clubs and athletics. Our journalists
also report on new films, fads, music, computer technology and social
issues. We are always eager to welcome new journalists to cover
political events, local and national sports and topics relevant
to today's teens.
The Book Club
The Book Club is an offspring of the Nubian
Studies Club. Members meet once a week beginning in February. This
year's reading list includes I, Tina by Tina Turner and Taking
Back my Name by Ike Turner among others.
Computer Lab
The Computer Lab is open to students from 2:30-4:00
daily. Here students have access to 35 computers, which are connected
to the Internet, scanners, laser printers and a 36" projection monitor.
The lab may be used to do homework assignments or work on upcoming
projects. Tutorial assistance is available to students who request
it. A teacher supervises the Computer Lab during these after school
hours.
